Celebrating the Heart of Our Family: A Tribute to Amazing Grandparents!

Hello Reader,

As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, I find myself reflecting on all the wonderful moments our family enjoyed at the home of Ben and Lona Frazier - my mother's parents.

We were there on Thanksgiving Day, again on December 23, and returned on December 25. Our home was only fifty miles from my grandparents.

These two deserve a spot in the "Grandparents Hall of Fame." Being their first grandchild, I may have had one or two special privileges. Being at their home was better than a trip to Disney. If you had similar grandparents tell me about them.

These were church planters. They loved Jesus and His people. I've only recently learned how many souls my grandparents personally won to the Lord. As a pastoral team, they set the bar high. I'm not able to care for people with their graciousness.

I'm so glad their wise insights during my teenage years helped guide me through those formative times with wisdom and kindness. It was a safe place.

When I began preaching, I was given the opportunity to preach the Tioga UPC nursing home service. Every young preacher needs to attempt to communicate in an open room of a nursing home. I learned patience, to suffer embarrassment graciously, and to laugh at myself. Thanks!

Their warmth and love set a beautiful precedent that my parents followed in relishing the joys of grandparenthood with our sons because of "Granny and Grandpa," Norma and I are blessed to share similar experiences with our grandchildren today.

I'm thankful for these memories but am reminded of how much I gained by asking my grandfather questions about his life.

I'm reminded of the importance of asking questions that prompted untold stories. Thus, I recommend ordering Elder, Tell Me Your Stories as a meaningful Christmas gift for the family.

Time is running out if you want the books in hand before Christmas, so don't miss out on this opportunity!

Plus - all your friends and family want books for Christmas. Order Elder, Tell Me Your Stories, and use the code Stories10 to get 10% off your entire order.

To my readers, thanks again for all you do to encourage me. Your input is cherished more than words can say.

Blessings,

Carlton L. Coon Sr. (Pastor/Author)

Hello, Good day. My goal is growth - my growth, the growth of individual Christians and the growth of those leading local churches - namely pastors. I wanted to take a moment to share something very personal and meaningful to me—a couple of my favorite Bible quotes. These are particularly relevant to me just now. Perhaps these favorites will resonate with you as they do with me. Quote #1: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The verse always reminds me that...

Greetings, During the holiday season, music often fills the air. I am grateful for the incredible talent the Lord Jesus has allowed me to work with. The contributions of musicians, praise teams, choirs, and choir directors have consistently added another facet to a service. I've often scheduled a choir or praise team to sing after my preaching. The song they were asked to sing became the sharp point of my message. The role of music in praise and worship is deep. The Bible mentions a rich...
